I like my sheepskin pad, before this horse I never used them at all.
How many of you fit your saddle with a sheepskin?

I initially started using one as saddle wasn't best fit and now horse has grown into it. We are due a saddle fit, so I was wondering should I try without the sheepskin or for those of you that are pro dead sheep, what are your thoughts?

Thanks

i use mine when i need to, but would always prefer well fitting saddle with just a decent saddle cloth or numnah underneath.

I use a lambskin pad to deal with seasonal variations in saddle fit... at the moment, I'm using it. By end July, saddle will fit perfectly with a thin numnah. During winter, he has a thick woolly coat and doesn't need the pad... each spring he loses his winter coat, and loses weight, so the pad works well to deal with that. TBH, it is so nice for absorbing sweat under the saddle that I'd love to use it all year round :D but then, he doesn't sweat as much in winter when it's cooler.

So yes, I use one but only when needed... and 4 years of use, the pad still comes up looking beautiful each time I wash it, it was worth the money ;)
