Well, I took horsey to get saddle fitted after I posted about saddle which I bought with her, was pinching her further down her withers. We tried about 15 saddles on and rode in about 6!! which were the best fitting ones. We tried a Stubben Siegfried, (sp) the new model Stubben, which was very nice, Prestige, Passier, and a Jaguar. and another make which I cant remember the name of at the mo. Of all the saddles, we came away with a brand new shiny Stubben.

But this stubben isnt like the banana shaped ones, as they have had an extra gusset added at the back to make it sit flat. They do this with some of the Stubbens. Also with the Stubben having the longer flaps and big knee rolls, it suited my long legs perfectly. We rode in the indoor school til we got kicked out for a booked lesson, then we rode in the outdoor school. She rode really nicely and was even bending round my left leg, which is usually not the case, and coming up and round without hardly any help from me. Lovely.
So with it being the best fit for her and for me, I decided to buy it, and I part-ex`d my Albion SLK and brought it home.
I know that people have their own opinions on different saddles, but does anyone have a Stubben and how do you like it?
The woman at the saddlers told me that `people have different opinions on different saddles and if they have had a bad experience with one, it is most likely that it didn`t fit the horse. All saddles are good if they fit the horse correctly, its just finding the right saddle fit for the right horse. `
I suppose this is very true, but there are people out there that dont have their saddles fitted by a professional and have problems and then blame the saddle name!!! Although I am not saying this about ALL problems.

So I have my nice new saddle and I love it at the minute, and I will have it checked by my local saddler man in about 3-4 months to see how it is going.

I have a Stubben Romanus dressage saddle and I like it very much. I immediately found it comfortable to ride in. My instructor says Stubbens are "hard", I don't find that to be the case.

I also have an Albion GP which is a good saddle, except I am constantly having the flocking altered, it seems to disappear somewhere !

When I have some spare money I will change the Albion, I would very much like a Stubben Imperator.
