Saddle fitter halifax area

very much recommend david , he actually swopped my saddle when after it had bedded in transpired to be a bit too wide & likewise when a friend wanted to buy a second hand saddle & he didn't have anything that was quite right he told her so as opposed to selling something nearly right

he does come over to halifax but it can be better to go to him imo

don't like the tackman , have had repairs done by him in the past & they lasted no time & he tried pushing me to buy a saddle from him whilst he was there doing the repairs
 
ive got to completely disagree with you. David fitted 2 saddles incorrectly to 2 of my horses and seriously damaged one of them. i will buy saddles off him but i wouldnt have him to fit one.
Ray has never tried to push me to buy anything. he travels to mine and doesnt charge me for it. he has done lots of repairs/reflocking etc and i have never had any problems with his work. hes great with my horses and actually knows his stuff
 
well i suppose everyone can have different experiences , ironically i ended up using david after my previous saddler , not one mentioned on this thread , fitted both my horses too narrow !

i rather liked the fact that throstle nest has a good selection of new & second hand saddles & if you go on a day when both david (fitter) is there & the saddler they will fine tune the saddle fit between them

it is a bit of a mine field though!
 
i bought saddle from moody mares and their saddle fitter actually fitted it for me just over two years ago it did need some extra stuffing at the time, i have never had problems with it but my horse has now fattened up and i think it is starting to pinch as he has bucked in it the last two times he has been ridden in it. Up until last week he was being ridden in a friends saddle which he never bucked when ridden in that.
