Hi, can any one recommend a saddle fitter in West Lothian? Im not from this area so have no idea.. Ive heard that Ellis from 'the grange' is meant to be good. Thanks
I had the grange do my first horse and TBH they made an absolute mess of it. A couple of months after the fittening I new it wasn't right and I got Central Saddlery to come out and they fixed the problesm for me. used them ever since and they are great, maybe not the cheapest but cheapest is not always the best. They have a website now if you google them.
There are a few fitters in Scotland I wouldn't touch after a bad experience - Ali at the Grange was one of them but never used Ellis.
Also had issues with Lee Valley Saddlery.
Stirlingshire have a mixed reputation - I've heard a mix of praise and horror stories.
I use Laura Simpson (amayzing saddlery) and after years of problems have never had an issue since. She doesn't stock a lot of saddles but does Thorowgood and Kent & Master but will happily check other saddles and make recommendations/adjustments.
Jackie at Central Saddlery isn't a qualified fitter and has made a hash of some flocking that she did for friends of mine.
