Looking for saddle fitter recommendations please, nearish to Rugby / Leamington. Anyone to be carefully avoided? (Please PM me re the latter rather than naming and shaming on a public forum) Many thanks :-)

Craig at tower farm rugby has had good reviews ,not sure if he is still there

I second this. Tower Farm hasnt always had the best fitters but Craig has a good reputation and is very popular. Certainly when he fitted my pony's saddle he explained everything he did

Any up to date thoughts on saddle fitters in this area please. Have happily used Southam saddles in the past but Saddle fitting seems to be a minefield and would like a alternative if necessary Thanks

Andy Wheals (The Saddleman) - he is Shropshire based but does travel quite a lot of the Midlands including Warwickshire. We have bought new from him and also looked at buying new before and he has suggested just having existing saddle adjusted. So in our experience he is not one to look at trying to persuade you into spending for the sakes of it.
Can be a delay in trying to get him though as he is always super busy, but he is offering clinics now so if you are willing to travel to him then there is a monthly slot available.

I have also used Andy Wheals and was very happy with him however unfortunately I was unable to get a slot with him for several weeks (7) last August despite being from Shropshire myself so local.
I have now been using Mel Lewis (also based Shropshire) who has been an absolute godsend - admittedly she is based only 3 miles from me but she has gone above and beyond for me suggesting solutions and fitting us in early mornings and weekends.
Highly recommend and covers a lot of the Midlands. She has a decent stock of used, quality saddles too.

Its hard to know how to tell if a fitter does a good job or not, obviously if horse is not going well etc but any tips for what to look for and what questions to ask?
