Saddle fitters in North East Scotland recommendations

Havent had any experience with any of these, but the physio recomends Kay.
I have had Hayfield out to do my saddle in the past (and lately) they are okay but didnt seem to spot some slipping which caused a nice physio bill.
I plan on using either kay or Stirlingshire for the next time

Thanks. I really wanted to use Kay as she is the only one that I have heard good things about, but she only comes as far north as Loanhead - and I don't fancy hacking over the dual carridge way just for an appointment. Nor do I particularly fancy the £20 travel fee per person.

Not sure abut using Hayfield, as I feel he is going to be a bit of a pain - and my broken sense of balance isn't going to help (I lean on the left too much when I have stirrups despite it feeling LONGER at that side)

Have no idea TBH. I used to use a girl from Keith but she buggered off back to Ireland a couple of years ago! When I enquired about saddle fitting, the only one I found was Hayfield but you do have to take the horse to them I think, and didnt have the saddles I wanted (even though they are stockists according to the saddle makers website...). Sorry cant be of more help. Right now, I seem to be fitting them myself!

What about wrights of Huntly or Connie Weller (used to be green fields)

Have used the Mel from Keith but as M_M said she has gone back to Ireland. There is or was a women in lossiemouth can't put my finger on her name not very helpful.

Connie Weller(Elgin) advertised in Scotads this week.Let me know as have ad can give number if want.
Hayfield will come out if local, well V was at our yard last week fitting saddle.
Must admit I have seen a certain saddler(whispers the one you prefer) fit a saddle without rider even sitting on it.
Used to be Oberon but think they've closed now and don';t know who person was who did fitting for them but had heard good things.(useless info I know)
So limited up here if don't have transport.
I usually get Ian to check ours

Thats what I am afraid of! I cant really travel him as I have no transport - especially during the week

.

I have been reading up and reading up on saddle fitting, and I try my hardest to make sure it does what the guides say, and I go by how the horse is to. Compared to some peoples saddles I have seen lately it seems to fit better - but I really want a second opinion, especially so seeing as this new saddle will have settled more now.

When I take it off his back there are basically no marks from where it has been sitting unless he sweats loads, it doesn't touch his back and it clears his spine well. The only thing is that I think it is pinching his shoulders a bit now as the flocking has settled.

Would totally recommend Stirlingshire Saddlery. Really nice people who know their stuff and won't sell you a saddle just for the sake of it. Heard differing reports about Kay. Good saddle fitter but won't necessarily go for the most cost effective saddle!!

I'm another one to recommend Eilean from Stirlingshire, she made 3 visits to my mare last year alongside my physio and really couldn't have done more to help me, she also saved me lots of money as she had the option of selling me a saddle she had with her or fitting a saddle I had got to try from another dealer, both saddles were identical but with £300 price difference and she told me to buy the one from the other dealer and quickly as she would if I didn't! I've used Tweed Valley,Cicely Thorne, Grange saddlery and Central in the past but I won't go past Stirlingshire for a long time now!
