As titles says really, I need a new saddle for my HW cob Harvey, the saddle I bought is putting pressure on his high withers, thankfully I havent started ridding him yet.
My horsey friends came over today to help me with my nerves and mounting, we all noticed when pressure was added to the stirrup and saddle it started digging in, we tried one of their horses fitted saddles and it fitted a treat!!

So does anyone have any recommendations for a trust worthy and budget-wise saddle fitter???

(Also if they do trade ins, that would be a bonus I have 4 saddles doing nothing)

My friend had a not so great experience with Harriet Haivers, not that I like to slate people but thought I'd just mention it. I had Lorna from The Tack Box in Lincoln - absolutely lovely lady and did a cracking job fitting for my boy. She spent a lot of time explaining to me why the saddles fitted/didn't fit, and she watches you ride in everything. She can also flock the saddles there and then from her van. Google 'the Tack Box Lincoln' and you'll get number. She may come out your way. Hope this helps :)

Look on the master saddlers website - Debbie Richardson (I think that's right) from near Newark was excellent.

We use someone we call 'Sammy' at our yard- dad of Matt Sampson (junior rider) - he will exchange, sell and make-to-measure. He is based in Aston(?) J31 M1 so not too far away. Let me know if you want his contact details and I will try to get them for you. From the posts above it seems like saddle-fitting is a bit of a nightmare!!!

I too use Bridlepath :). Took me ages and about four saddlers (all Master Saddlers) before I found Bridlepath. Laura comes out every few weeks at the moment because Dizz is changing shape and she (Dizz) won't put up with a saddle that isn't right(!).

Must stop recommending them though as they are always so busy now lol :D
