Saddle fitting/buying advice.

Just wandering, I have bought a second hand saddle, what is the likely hood that it could be altered to fit my horse via reflocking (the width is the same as a saddle that I know fitted him)?

Do most people buy one of the saddle fitters saddles/order one from them?

If the saddle I have can't be made to fit then do most saddle fitters accept part exchange?

I bought a second hand one for my mare (same width as her old one) from a company that fit them aswell. She has one shoulder built up more than the other, I knew the saddle would slip when i rode her, so I asked them to add some more flocking and fit it to her. They they came back out to alter it as her muscle built up.

I'm afraid there is NO way of knowing, there are way too many variables to possibly be able to say. Some saddle fitters take trade ins, others do not at all. We take them but because we only go out and fit our own brand, we put them on ebay so the price reflects that.
