* 3 fingers clearance above wither
* saddle should NOT interfere with shoulder movement
* back of the pommel should not go past the horses last rib
* cantle and pommel should be level so the saddle isn't tilting
* There should be plenty of clearance over the spine
Ultimatley the best thing you can do is ask a saddler to have a look.
