So, I had the saddle fitter out yesterday. It has taken me far too long, due to the fact I've been working my way down a list with my new(ish) pony of restarting vaccinations, new rugs needed, etc, etc.
I wish this had been number 1 on the list!
Having posted a few weeks ago about back ache and come to the conclusion that my position must be the cause, my instructor insists that my position is fine - no better or worse than average and should not be causing me backache.
The saddle, however, was slightly out. We've kept the gullet, but added inserts and when I got on to test... oh the difference, it was bliss. I felt level and my legs felt supported.
Overall the saddler was happy with the saddle but what a difference a subtle thing makes... for all of 30 quid!
I can't wait to go for a long ride and really test it out and there should be no excuses for sore backs now!
