If you have had the same horse, and the same 2 saddles that have been fitted properly every year for the last 3 years, would you bother getting them checked again?
Would a 7 - 8 year old horse change shape that much?

Every time I've had the saddle fitter out the last 2 times he hasn't even touched my saddles he says they're fine. He watches me ride and then charges me £50. I'm tempted not to bother as they look fine to me and I'm not having any problems.

Would you try another saddler?

I would have thought they might well have needed reflocking by now? My horse is 9 and his saddles are checked every 6 months - and at least one will need tweaking.

Maybe I'll get someone else to have a look, because my usual guy will probably say they're fine and not do anything to them.
One of them is a Wintec Isabel with cair, so that won't need doing. The other is a Barnsby GP which was flocked well 3 years ago to fit him when I first bought it. But like I say the last times he's been out he says it's fine.

Incorrect.. the air bags leak over time and do need 'reflocking'

You saddle fitter sounds like he needs chaging!

Yes, at all ages a saddle needs checking at least once a year.

Yes, you need a new saddle fitter
