My 5yr old cob has a short and very flat back , I’m on 4th saddle trying to get the right fit, have tried wintecs, kings now on Kent and masters and they all don’t sit flat on her back at the rear(cantle) The gullet width isn’t an issue currently in the widest(silver)gullet… saddle looks fine when tacked up but as soon as she moved there’s an obvious gap underneath the rear panel… fitter due back again but I’m thinking this possibly another saddle that’s unsuitable… any suggestions appreciated.

I would try Ideals. Nice saddles, lots of different styles, IME they can fit cobs / flat wide ponies very well, and you can pick them up second hand without too much trouble. I had a wide flat Icelandic in an Ideal WH and it fitted us both very nicely. Current cob is also now in an Ideal, after working through two different Wintecs and a TG compact. It's a GP rather than WH, but it's a 16.5" panel and a 17" seat so it also works for my long legs.

I am having the same problem, my Dartmoor Is wide backed has a fair wither I have tried
wintec as I have used them on my Haflingers. I got a good fit but had to use a crupper due to round rib cage.
