Saddle Fittings

How often do you get your saddle checked and by whom? Fly changes shape all the time and I worry that perhaps his saddle doesn't fit as well as it should sometimes. Trouble is, there is always something to check, teeth, back, saddle, oh my, no wonder I am so poor!

umm, i have soft-flocked saddles lined with serge, and i use a pad or two of gamgee to raise the front if necessary, and have them checked every year or so.

I have mine done every six months, or as soon as I think he's changed shape. I have it done by the lady who originaly fitted the saddle.

I have the most fantastic saddler, he sells all sorts of saddles but specialises in synthetics. I bought my dressage saddle off him and thought he was so good (not just that my horse felt so comfortable for the first time after other saddlers had tried to fit rubbish saddles, but also because his customer service is spot on and he's just a nice, genuine guy!) that I have him see to all my saddles (and horses) now. Actually he is the "appointed" saddler for the whole yard now, and has been recommended to friends etc.
I get mine seen to a minimum of once a year, twice in the first year of fitting a new saddle, and more if I think it necessary.
