Saddle for short but very high withered pony??

Hello,

lokking for some advice need a saddle for my very high withered thoroughbred x, she 14.1 but very short backed a 17" was sitting too far back which puts thorowgood high wither out picture but was thinking bout pony club 16", medium. not sure how to add picture but willl try, tried saddle fitter but they nothing in my budget, hence the thorowgood range, pref maxam price. Any one with any suggestions or advice. . . ..

try on ebay for a saddle company 16.5 horse saddle. Don't get the 16.5 pony saddle as that will have small flaps for a small child. You should get a second hand one for about £200 and it will cost about £35 to get it refitted to her template. The saddle company 16.5 are shorter in the panels than most other 16.5 saddles

Had problem finding a saddle for my short-backed highish-withered horse. Ended up with a Kings Event Saddle which is excellent. I have the one with TB panels underneath which helps keep it up at the front. Not sure if they would come small enough for your pony though...??

I feel your pain!! Don't have the short backed problem but have the high withered problem, bought a keiffer of a member on here, so will let you know how that is on her withers when it arrives.

My Arab is 14.1 narrow, short backed and has high withers too but my old Lovatt & Ricketts 17 1/2" deep seated general purpose fit her (it had a cut back head). Now I ride her in a 17" Wintec Close Contact and that fits her well too. The 17 1/2" was too long for her but 17" one is fine for her and fits me well too (can't really go that much smaller in saddle size tho as I'm 5'9"!)
