Has anyone found a good saddle fitter that travels?
We are in the southern corner of Alsace, just at the point where it meets Switzerland and Germany and I desperately need help finding a saddle to fit a short-backed 13.2hh pony currently ridden by a 5ft3 adult.
Ideally I should be in a 17 inch(16.5inch?) saddle but the ones I have tried on her so far are obviously wrong (too long on the back and over the shoulder blade). The saddle that fits her best so far is my daughter's 15inch but then my 9st of weight is not well distributed.
Also does anyone have any suggestions for makes of saddle available here that are good for this sort of case?

I love my solutions, but treeless are not for everyone and if you decide to go that route make sure you try before you buy.

I am having a similar problem, there don't seem to have saddle fitters in the south of France! I don't understand how they cope without but apparently they do! I am so desperate I am planning on shipping my saddles back to the UK (with photos and instructions) for adjustments!

Thank you!
I've sent a mail to equimetric to see if they will come out here and am busy reading up on the Solutions saddles.

What is it that people don't like about the Solutions saddles? - at first glance they seem almost too good to be true!

Solutions are treeless for a start - do a search on here for both the brand and the type, then you can make up your own mind :D. I'm not a great fan of treeless but then I fit Native Pony and ReactorPanel saddles - Andrea who owns the business is exceptionally good at fitting long distance and, as you can imagine, we are well used to dealing with slightly too small saddles for the rider!

There is no escape if you need a much bigger saddle than the pony can take, not in traditional saddles. There are tricks such as putting a deeper rear gusset on the panel so that the rider is kept forwards and off the cantle, maintaining the correct balance for the saddle, but they can only go so far.

I had one lady who weighted 15.5 stone and had an Icelandic who at 13.3 could carry her weight, but could only take a 15" saddle . We fitted a ReactorPanel dressage saddle with a 17" seat and it worked perfectly!
