Getting a new saddle in a few weeks for my youngster and not sure whether to go for a thorowgood T6 or a decent second hand GFS leather one? It will be for a 14.2 native type cob, flat backed no withers.
My budget is around £600 max!!
I am 5ft10 long legs and my main problem is my knees coming over the front of the saddle - i don't ride particularly short neither.
Also in CR - posted similar to other day!! but been thinking on since then.......

I have been recommended to try a straight cut saddle in particular a GFS as they are better for cob types (stability wise) and leave plenty of room for the shoulder.
My only concern is my leg position! i thought i would have been better suited to something more forward cut?
Hacking out, schooling & a bit of dressage this side of winter, spring will be showing under saddle, dressage, hacking and start jumping end of next summer.
I think i would either like a dressage saddle or something smart enough for showing under saddle too but practical for hacking.

Advice please.
Also would be good if you have similar stats to me and my mare to post a pic of your saddle for comparisons. (between 5ft9 - 6ft) pony (14hh - 15hh)

thanks
