Looking to replace my thorowgood saddle with a nice leather one for my grown up girlie :) the thorowgood will be afjustedvto fit the baby after he is backed. We do dressage but use a dressage saddle for this.
We also jump but only up to 3ft but really enjoy it and want to do more! We hack mainly and want to do some cob classes/ working cob in the spring summer. I hate the bulkiness of the throwgood it really is perched on top feeling, also I have long legs and when stirrups are short knees go over knee rolls. Thing is she is suited to working hunter/straight cut saddle due to big shoulders. Love the wh saddles as not as bulky but I know it will be wrong shape for my legs when jumping! Any suggestions for long legs on a big shouldered cob? Want a leather one in brown second hand budget 500.
Here we are in the dressage saddle (stirtupless!) For an idea on shape
Thanks

Hi. I have just had a black country made for my sec D. Fabby !
They do all sorts of saddle for cobs

Btw your DR could do with moving back. It looks too far forward :)

I have no recommendations other than to say that the kent and masters is the exact same shape as the thorogood (made by the same people) so prob best to avoid if you don't like the thorogood!

I've had Ideal and Black Country in the past which I loved. A lesser known brand is meadow creek which fit the cob shape really well. Hard to find a G.P for a cob due to their shoulders but the meadow creek fitted my big chested and shouldered girl really well. Also tried on an albion dressage saddle the other day which I fell in love with and am now saving for one!
