Saddle keyring?

My Mum has requested that in place of giving her a Christmas present this year, I donate my old saddle to a local RDA centre. If it's not suitable for any of their horses, they occasionally hire a shop and sell horsey stuff, so they'd hopefully get some value from it that way.

It's a good, solid GP saddle but pretty old and not likely to raise more than £50 on ebay, so I'm more than happy to do this and my Mum is getting a nice "fuzzy" feeling also!

I'd like to get her a wee thing to open for Christmas though and had a brainwave that I could get her a wee saddle keyring as a marker of her nice idea! I've seen this;

Which is exactly what I was looking for... but in America. So delivery a bit excessive for such a wee thing! I was hoping someone might have seen something similar that I can purchase from the UK? Any ideas welcome, but no more than £10 really or it defeats the purpose and I'll get in trouble from my Mum!

Wouldn't your local saddlers have some in? If not, what about a cobblers, I bet they could easily do one for you if you took a good picture for them to copy. I bought one years ago, it's still going and cost £1.50, solid good leather too.

Have to say, what a nice idea for your Mum too!

Have never seen them in my local shops, just remember my husband's aunt (saddle fitter) having a mini saddle in her living room and that led to thinking a keyring would be a good idea!

Thanks for the reply. It was my Mum's idea, but I'm really happy to do it as it means the saddle's going to a good home/the RDA can benefit from it and she feels good for doing this rather than getting more chocolate/slippers etc! Everyone's a winner!

Thank you so much for the speedy reply! Does your saddler have a website with piccy at all? I'll have a look on ebay when I get home (work block it, boo!) but if my search doesn't turn anything up, would it be too cheeky to pay you p&p to send one to me?

Thanks again!

Well when I asked her about coming out to saddle fit for my new horse last year she said she'd call back to chat about it but then never did.

Didn't want to pester her so ended up getting someone else.

I think it's because I originally said my budget wasn't huge and she couldn't be bothered coming out to do a synthetic saddle fit. In the end, I trebled my budget and got a fab Ideal saddle from Kay Hastilow.

If I'd been more organised, I could have asked her, but would feel too bad asking so close to Christmas!
