I've got a Barefoot London hopefully winging its way too me.

I used to have a cheyenne, with the grandeur pad, but foolishly sold it.

I was wondering if a poly pad - I can add a pro lite gel pad too - would work instead of the official pad?

I'm only looking to do 20 -30 mins of flatwork.

I've got these in, but its been while since I saw the grandeur pad, so wondered if this would be adequate?

Are you getting one of the new ones with the vps? It probably needs less by way of padding than the old ones. I think it depends on your weight as well. I have an old type Cheyenne and I put a gel-eze pad on the horse first, then a high wither numnah with a prolite on top under the saddle. So far I have got away with it but I am only eight stone and never do more than 20 to 30 mn. flat work with this arrangement.
I have a high wither Equitex saddle pad but I dislike it as it makes the whole thing feel very bulky and I prefer a closer contact for schooling.

Thanks both of you, yes it is the newer type with the VPS.

Am envious of your 8 stone, I'm nearer 10 :-(

Am happy to buy the pad if needed, but if the polypad and gel pad will work, then would rather keep the money :)

tbh, I would use a proper BF pad - I've used my cheyenne with both PP and BF pad, and was much happier using the proper one.

I just don't think you can be too careful with treeless - let us know how you get on :)

Thanks - my saddle was posted from germany on Monday, so will hopefully be here soon.

Will try it with the pp, and let you know how we get on :-)
