I am struggling for saddle pads and need your help! I mave a monoflap dressage saddle and use nuumed squares that attach to my d rings - no problems. But I struggle with my monoflap jumping saddle. I use polypads (which make his back hot) or nuumed close contact saddlecloths (which are boring colours and not quite the right shape for my saddle) I need a pad without straps, but that won't move. My horse has a high wither and sensitive skin so needs something with sheepskin or something padded (saddles are fitted with the pads to accomodate for this).

Have seen the rambo handy pads, but not sure about the lump of padding over withers that stops it slipping back - think it may put pressure on his withers - anyone used them?

Am going to buy an Anky pad to try as they have the lining to keep the back cool, so better than the polypads - anyone have a 2nd hand one they want to sell before I splash out on new and may not even like them?

I want to try the eskadron polo pad, but can't find a uk stockist (except FurFeatherMeds and they only have fuschia and navy!) so need you matchy matchy people to point me in the right direction of a UK stockist.

I really want somethign that I can get in more than black and white. I'm not into bandages as horse doesn't need them and they take too long, so not going "matchy matchy", but would like a bit of colour in my saddle pad!

And finally, any other suggestions from those who have monoflap saddles will be appreciated. Have tried normal saddlecloths and cut off straps, but they just slip back. I have fashioned little straps to attach to d-rings and they still move about. Really need something designed for the job.

Hey,

I have a Butet monoflap and understand your problem! I use a bartyl half lined numnah on it for some things because the straps are short enough to go through the D's, but I found this was bulky as my breastplate also attached there, so now I use Anky. (dear lord - I am starting to sound like an Anky rep - I'm not, I promise!!!) I have found them great. Havent moved, keep cool and no straps :D

I will confess, I still havent used the Anky for XC - not due to lack of trust in the product, just want to school in it before a comp - but I have SJ in it and hasnt budged.

Hope this helps

Thanks - what I'm worried about is that it is effectively a dressage pad and that it will be too straight in cut and too long in length. I have a custom jumping saddle with flaps that are only 11 inches long from stirrup bar (I like to have a horse next to my leg rather than bulky flaps, so as well as being monoflap, it is also very short!). Think there might be too much length in it????

The Anky pads come in a jumping shape too! I ordered one from Ooteman the other day (postage is a lot but it arrived so so quickly!). I have a mono-flap Butet XC and it has not budged at all- every other pad I have used has completely slipped under the saddle.

They really are fab and they come in the new season colours (matching bandages available!), def recommend them!! :)

How much was postage? And how on earth do you manage to order when you can't understand the website!?! Is there anywhere in UK you can order jumping shape?

Ok - just discovered Google Translate and hence have found shipping costs. Shame they only have new colours as I was after a red or turquoise pad. Think aquarius will have to do!

Go to the page as normal and then look in the top right and there should be a little british flag which will translates everything! I think postage was about £15 but it came in 2 days I think (quicker than a lot of uk companies!).

To justify the postage you could order lots of stuff- they have so many nice items!! ;)

I bought the aquarius and it is so lovely in the flesh- don't forget to order the bandages as well!! :D
