Saddle poles in horsebox

Anyone know any hacks for stopping saddles slipping off saddle poles in a lorry? Just bought a new box and worried that my saddles might fall off these posts when going up hills/ round corners etc? They are quite high up so a fair way to fall if they did slide off. Or do I just keep them on the floor?

I had them in my old trailer and never lost a saddle, they were mounted on a side wall.

mine has these but i asked the old owner and she said her saddles fell off them, so i just use a stubbs saddle mate that i already had. i’ve been meaning to change to the other type, and use bungees to keep them on!

I do the same as @dottylottie. Plus it's handy bulk on the floor to stop anything else sliding around.

My saddle pole is on the back door of my 3.5 ton horsebox. In an emergency stop the saddle would come off.
I made this. I only ever carry one saddle and used the top pole for fixing.

I have these and put pipe lagging/insulation around them. Never lost a saddle in over 30 years.

I'm not sure how you've come to that conclusion?? My horse hasn't even travelled in the lorry yet as I only purchased it yesterday! As we have a lot of steep hills around us I was anticipating that the law of physics meant the saddle might slip off the pole backwards and asking for tips/hacks to keep it on there. I'm sure my horse will be able to balance himself adequately and on his last physio appointment was confirmed to be very comfortable!

I used the non slip draw liner stuff on mine worked brilliantly something like this

I’ve not had a saddle fall off mine yet (and it’s just a bare pole)
Although I did have one detach itself from the wall so the whole lot hit the floor.

I just pop mine on the floor. Those poles are quite slippy, i don’t want my saddles falling off and getting damaged or scaring my horse

I have 6 poles in my lorry, all covered with pipe insulation held on with a couple of wraps of duct tape and the saddles never move. The insulation is enough to fill the gullets nicely, as well as being a little grippy.

Hi! I wedged my saddle poles so that they are on a slight upwards angle using triangular door stop wedges. This seems to work for me and a super easy fix. I can take a picture and upload later if helpful .

Can you swap them for the wider racks? I have those and never been an issue..

Alternatively wrap that grippy rubber stuff for inside drawers round it, maybe a bungee cord?
