dont want to come over as advertising as it isnt meant that way at all.

how much do you think I should advertise my saddle for? Its a 2nd hand Farrington Dressage saddle. Its a black 17.5w with new buffalo leather girth straps that I have just had dyed black to match the saddle. It does have a slight scratch to the seat but not noticeable when you get anyones arse in it

Everything has been checked out with my saddler and is 100% in excellent working order

The second hand saddle market seems to be quite poor at the moment. Second hand saddles don't seem to sell for very much at all.

You could take it in part exchange against a new or second hand one, which might get a better price.

My saddler doesnt really want to take saddles in part ex as he cant get rid of them either and the money he couldve given me is very little and being as ive just bought a brand new saddle off him I need as much as I can get for my old one.

Well ive advertised on HHO under the free tack adverts and my next thing is ebay - when I get my digi camera back from Samsung

Ooooh I love farrington dressage saddles - at £250 someone's going to get a bloody bargain!

IMHO I think that's a bit too cheap! Stick it on ebay with a reserve price and see what happens - but do get a good pic!
Who's your saddler? (PM me if you like!)

I use Ray Kennan from Leeds

Oh what a shame about not being able to use ebay - I've not heard of Ray Kennan - I thought you may say Throstlenest as they sell Farringtons. Might be worth giving them a ring and explaining that you've got a second hand one to see what they suggest?

I agree with Happihorse, the market is rubbish for 2nd hand saddles at the mo. I tried twice on ebay to sell my gorgous Barnsby leather saddle but it didn't sell, I did put a reserve on it, I think there was one bid of £250, to me that's giving it away, I've now decided to keep it, I'll try another time perhaps when/if the market picks up.

ive had a look and there are 2 farringtons on there atm - neither are upto much value so maybe you are right to hold onto it for a little while - either that or take it to the live auctions
