I have a 16hh British warmblood mare, and having major saddle problems!! my saddle is slipping forwards, about 2"! and my mare has started bucking. have had one saddler twice who has just made it worse! the most recent said its over flocked and its the conformation of her that is causing this problem, so there is no cure... he says get it to fit as best as poss and use a non slip numnah, im a bit sceptical tho as surely if it fits this should not happen? she does have a forward girth line, but this has never been a problem before now!
any suggestions on different saddles or anything would be great as at a total loss!
Thanks!

That sounds rubbish to me! Change saddlers, if you put a thread with your location on a new thread I'm sure people will be able to recommend you one. Oh mare has a very forward girth groove, narrow high whithers, barrel shapped and compact through her back. If she can be fitted with a perfectly fitting saddle then there is hope for anyone!

Sounds like you definitely need to change saddlers!
I also have a pretty awkward shaped mare and lots of people have recommended Balance Saddles to me - google them, they have a good website.
I guess it depends how much you are willing to spend.
Good luck, sounds like a right pain!

i have a difficult shaped mare too and went down the made to measure tree/saddle route - and what a difference - bucking bronking choppy strided unhappy horse who'd had a new owner every year till i got her - who also had scarring all down her back from saddles - is now stutting her stuff in the show ring and winning occasionally :D

ETA - my mare is bum high and high withered - so needed banana shaped tree - flat trees were just being pushed by her bum straight into point of shoulder - numerous saddlesr worked on WIDTH of saddle - until i went M2M and he put a 'normal' staightish ttree against her back to show the problem - it seriously bridged - a 'normal' saddle would never fit - regardless of width

Dosen't sound right to me, yes it will be more difficult with your horses conformation but not impossible, I think you may need a second opinion or a third in this case. A made to measure may be the best bet, or I have found the Ideal saddle make to be good for nonconvential shapes.

she currently has an ideal suzannah dressage saddle, which i LOVE and am so upset that it is causing me problems! my mare does not normally buck, am having my physio out so check her over as shes fussing when the saddle goes on. its just a total nightmare! i dont have endless money either! :-(
