We bought a lovely very green 5year old irish horse for my son. Got him home during the week and am struggling to find a saddle. He was being ridden in a thorowgood T4 high wither saddle with a black gullet. I cannot seem to find a second hand one anywhere.
I have tried all the usual places but they are either too small seat wise or not high withered. we have tried all of our saddles and friends and nothing looked right at all. Is this type of saddle a special shape ?
Really want to get him moving gently and getting frustrated !!

Get a saddler? I wouldn't trust that the last saddle he wore previously fitted... most often they don't! If he's a funny shape and you can afford it, try getting a WOW fitter out. They're great saddles and fit so well as you get the parts (although I think they do readymade "Club" ones). Dont buy brand new, they're horrifically expensive - I got a list of what parts I needed from my fitter then went off and found them 2nd hand much cheaper online (still worked out at about £1k though).

Personally I hate Thorowgoods, dont seem to fit anything well IMO.
