Morning all! *hacking weather!*

Id like to start jumping the arab - is my saddle suitable?! - this is the best picture i have of it! sorry! its very dark!

I dont know what it is (all i know is that its synthetic with a suede seat ,..and its brown!) as I loan her and it came with her!

As shes a *fat* low withered flat back arab the flaps are quite straight cut - assuming this is just to free the shoulder....basicaly i have no idea - do i need to get a GP saddle...!!??

Thanks!!!

Can I have your arab please???? Go on, please.........

Anyway, I am presuming your saddle is a straight cut GP? Yes it is straight cut to allow for shoulder movement. My arab has the same shape as yours, hence why I ride in a straight cut GP.

This saddle should be fine for jumping, you need to have a saddle that fits and doesn't encroach on the shoulder movement, especially when jumping.

Please can I have your arab..................

Hehe! Yay! thanks!

Shes a dream to have considering she was over worked and now gets very ner- so I'd like to do something different with her (weve just been chilling out and hacking with light schooling. Everytime i get the jumps out for my other pony and the sharers she'll follow me around when im carryin gall the blocks as if to say "so when can i have some fun!?"

Im hoping she will de-attach ridding drom stress and work - hence a change in style!!!

What do you do with yours!?

Mine is 50% arab 50% connemara. I have always had part bred arabs and they have all been arab in temperament.

Mine does a bit of everything. He is still young and hadn't done much when I got him, so he is learning all the time.

We hack, jump (small!) and do some flat work.

My plan is to do everything! I want to do some showing, dressage, SJ and some little XC.

well yur not going to be jumping 5 foot in the next few weeks are you? she'll let you know if its uncomfortable and you'll feel it when its uncomfortable so why mess about trying to find another on that fits. Have just spent the last 6 months trying get one for my mare who has no definition in her shoulders and the only solution the saddler and i have found is a gp thoroughgood in xxw with a crupper
