I need a new dressage saddle, but it's so hard finding one! Currently using my old horse's MW Albion Style but it's a bit too wide. I bought him a Medium Albion K2 jump this summer which fits absolutely spot on so tonight I tried a Medium Albion SLK on him and it sat ridiculously high on him. I would have thought if the MW is too wide and the Medium jump fits him, then a Medium in any model would be ok. Good thing I didn't take a risk and buy off ebay. Saddler had nothing that would fit him last time he came out. He reflocked my MW and said it should be ok using it with a half pad and saddlecloth but it's def slipping back. I think I'll have to start using a breastplate with it. Why is saddle hunting so hard?!?

OH tell me about it - I currently have an old GFS that fits quite well, but cannot seem to find a nice WH type saddle that fits well......Bloody welshies!!

Our 15;2 welsh cob had a Stubben dressage saddle, but it was always slipping, we now have him in an anky pessoa and it never moves plus its very comfy. Hes learnt dressage this winter, so we cant wait for his coat to come out and once hes 9in his summer outfit, we'll give him a spin and see how he goes - cant wait lol, should be lots of fun

Have you spoken to Albion directly? They are gererally very helpfull and would be able to talk you through the differences in the trees they use and also the different panel shapes and styles.

I think I am right in saying that the K2 and SLK have different trees but also the SLK couls have had a different panel fitted which is why it sat higher.

Tell me about it!! I'm on my 4th saddle in 18 months - not helped by cr*p saddler either I hasten to add! Finally got a T4 cob and changed my saddler and things are finally looking up. Its not perfect but its the best I've used so far. We're working on building his muscle up and changing his shape so purchase of saddle number 5 is on hold for the moment...

And yes, he's a Sec D too!
