Long story short - going through a non horse friendly gate on a bridleway the other day, stirrup caught on the catch on the post, all hell broke lose resulting in the metal/steel bar the stirrup hangs on to be bent about an inch or so out from the saddle. Synthetic stirrup leathers didn't snap - will be promptly replacing them!

Saddle is a Synthetic T4 Cob only 6 months old, tree is fine no other damage bar that bit.

I tried a few times with a hammer but no joy, boys in work have offered to heat it up & try (big workshop full of tools).

So is it something my saddler could do? Ring to ask Thorowgood? Or does it mean replacement time? :-(

Ring TG, they might not be able to repair it but will certainly have look at it for you & advise if it is safe to carry on using in meantime.

Is saddle insured? If TG can't repair it you could try claiming on house/horse insurance?

Thankyou, I'll give TG a ring then & see what they say. It's not insured as part of my horse insurance unfortunately infact I think its probably one of the only things I own which isn't insured.

Annoying as its such a small part but there we go!

Ah so it could go either way then. I'm hoping because its such a thick piece of metal that bending it back won't hurt, its not like the older ones that taper off thinner towards the end. We'll see!

Just emailed TG explaining so will see what they say. So annoying as it was such a freak accident & its almost brand new. Just my luck!
