I had the saddle fitter out for Jazz yesterday, I've been using Dylan's old saddle on him since I got him at the end of August, but have only ridden lightly once a week or so until I could get it checked.
Sadly the saddle fitter has said it isn't ideal and certainly isn't his "forever saddle"
she's put some more flocking in it to lift it a bit and has basically said I can continue to use it at the moment, but it isn't going to be great long term. So I'll need to get a new saddle at least in the next couple of months.
So far, so expensive.
The good news is that once the saddle had been reflocked and I got back on him, I discovered that he has an absolutely HUGE trot. He'd gone 3 or 4 strides and the saddler said "oh, what a beautiful trot!" and went on to say that she thinks he certainly has the "spring" for dressage (which I would quite like to do with him)
My plan is to work out how much I can afford to spend on a new saddle and how much I'm likely to get for mine ... wish me luck!
Apologies, that ended up long and fairly pointless.
