Went XC schooling the other day and nearly ended up underneath my horse when the saddle slipped whilst jumping , It was slightly loose and after tightening seemed OK. I use rubber reins and martingale at the moment should I use additional equipment. Any ideas welcome....thanks

maybe your girth was just too loose, so in the future ensure it is tight enough

if the saddle is slipping backwards then some kind of breastplate might be advisable when going XC

My saddle slipped slightly right last time I was schooling even though I thought the girth was tight, have to say my five point breastplate saved me from what could have been a very nasty accident. Would never ride xc without it now.

yeah i agree!
You can get sirsingles or a nice comfortable elasticated breast plate or hutning martingale i find are very good!..Always put your girth up gradually so that your horse has time to relax and thus relax his muscle for you to make sure it is as tight as it can go! But not extremely tight as you probably know lol!
You can aso get jel wither pads, but i dont think its come to that yet lol in your case!:):)
