Saddle squeaking!

I've a nearly new saddle on a short trial through a saddler. It's a lovely saddle, seems to fit well that J seems very happy in, in the quick schooling session I've done so far and he is very quick and expressive if a saddle isn't to his liking.

But it squeaks! It seems to be the leather, as far as I can tell and right side squeaks more than the left. I've had new and nearly new saddles before and never come across anything like this. Does anyone have any ideas?

A friend of mine had this recently and it turns out the header plate was cracked. Could have been lots of less dramatic things of course. It was only revealed when the saddler took a knife to the saddle!
