I am in the process of breaking in my 17.2! Hano he is four he was backed last year in a Wintec gp and was fine he has been turned away for a year and I've been trying to break him in for the last few or more months he was fine to begin with but has started bucking me off even when I just lean over him ( we have trotted before) so I'm getting his back checked but I'm guessing the problem has been caused by the saddle so I need to get something else, he is in an extra wide gullet on the Wintec the trouble is at the rear it doesn't sit too well an moves a fair bit, obviously he is going to change shape quite a bit so I need something that is able to change someone suggested keiffer as they have a key that changes the whole tree not just the front are these any good? Or anything else to suggest i would like a dressage saddle ideally leather but I've only got about £500 to spend so if will have to be second hand! Thanks

Balance International - they are the best saddles, particularly for wide horses. If you get one of the test ride facilitators out, they will show you the system and can recommend where to find a second hand saddle. Have a look at the website.

Look at the Thorowgood range - much better for the horses backs - proper flock panels, wide gullet & interchangeable gullet plates. The T4 is only £395 new. If you really want leather then look at the K&M range for £695.
For a young horse, I think these are a much better option.

I used a Thorowgood T4 to back and bring on my boy and it has been fab. So easy to clean, dead comfy and with a suedey style seat to help you stick onto any "baby" moments! Best of all it is highly adjustable and can be tweaked in so many ways as they change shape.

I've used mine for 3 years and am only upgrading it as I'm finding I need a flatter seat now.
