As some of you may recall I have a horse who has had ridden problems and been virtually unrideable or at least dangerous to ride, we *think* due to problems with his eye, sight loss and more recently eye loss.
He's being almost rebroken as in loads of time off to adjust himself then loads of long reining, walking in hand and a little leading off my horse.
We've tried to ride him recently and its not good, but we have had a more successful attempt since my last post- I still hope to get there with him.
The last saddler to check his saddle said it was fine, she said its not 100% perfect and she wouldn't sell it to me, but it certainly isn't causing problems and will do the job for now.
The problem is its too small for me aswell and its hard to feel secure on a difficult pony when your not "right" in the saddle.
I tried another 17" on him that I have and to be fair it was ok but for that ive always hated it as it tilts me forward so im really in the same position as his own saddle!

I'd like in the future to buy him something really nice but until I know he's going to come right I really cant risk £000's on a saddle for him.
What would you do in this situation? Ive tried to find someone with a wintec I could just try for fit and buy off ebay as a temporary solution- No one seems to have one locally though!
Obviously I need him to be really comfortable as he's learning to enjoy work again (I hope!)
I will ebay the above two to fund some thing but they wont fetch good money.
Ideas?

You sound like you have two saddles you don't like? So why not sell or part ex them for a second hand one that fits both him and you? I know your saddler said it wouldn't be hurting him, but if it's not right either I would want to rule that out completely. Some horses are very sensitive with their backs.
