Currently I have a prolite saddlecloth but it's starting to wear quite a bit .

Considering buying a numnah and a half pad instead . Can you reccomend me a decent numnah make ? And also half pad make ? Ideally slightly grippy would be fab as my saddle slips back usually.

I have a Roma half pad. I quite like it - it sits up well into the gullet - but it's not hugely fluffy or thick (which might be good, depending on what you're after). However, after washing it I have found it shrunk/changed shape slightly and doesn't fit my saddle as well as it did :( i know someone who has a le mieux (i don't know if i spelt that right...) one and it's lovely, though :)

I like my Le Mieux pro sorb half pad. Lovely quality and has memory foam inserts to pad up and down if needed.

I have a very ordinary cottage craft one and it does the job grand
It was about £40
Saddle doesn't move
fairly generous size

He you thought about the Acavallo gel ones? I like the ones with the sheepskin round them but it depends what you want it for - I use them more as protection for my horses back, because the gel is so thin it doesn't interfere with the fit of the saddle :) however if you wanted a thicker all sheepskin ones, I love KM Elite's sheepskin products and there half pads are lovely, same for LeMieux :)

KM Elite: Sorry about the numnahs etc - the half pads are there and I wasn't sure what colour you wanted :)

What about the numnah to go underneath too ? Thank you everyone so far very helpful

Ooh, well all the ones I've suggested can be used with a Numnah, perhaps, if your saddle fits him well a thin Numnah might be best?
Something like this?

(They do close contact ones & dressage ones aswell!)

These are quite thin

As are the Nuumed ones (but the sheepskin isn't as soft and lovely as KM elite or Acavallo! So wouldn't reccomend half-pad from them)

Look at the Ecogold range- I have a Cool fit numnah and it is amazing, on eof the best horsey things I think I've ever bought!

i have both a separate prolite pad, and a numnah with integral prolite

most of the time i prefer the integral version; its much more secure and no chance of pad slipping

Le Mieux all the way. I have the plain numnah that I used with a half pad and a sheepskin numnah with the prosorb foam shims too help with saddle fit. Would recommend either - money well spent!
