saddlecloths / numnahs for sj saddles?

hey all, got my k2 jumping saddle, love it however im struggling with numnahs. normal numnahs dont quite fit perfectly (with straps and all) and my poly pad moves. i need something fairly thickish as twig is a 4yo tb and not quite fully developed over her back yet so i need something that protects her back, fits the saddle and stops the back moving. we had it professionally fitted although because she is developing muscle over her back we still need a little something just to fill out that extra half inch. i know numed padded saddlecolthes, just wondering if there are any other brands i should be looking at?
 
Use squares rather than numnahs and choose one with D ring tabs rather than girth ones (or velcro girth ones so you can put it through the D ring) - if you want padding why not use a sheepskin half pad between your cotton numnah and saddle

i have a mattes half sheepskin that im using at the moment (no numnah as cant get one to fit right with the top straps!) adding a sj numnah underneath wouldn't add too much thickness would it? i do have a gel pad which i've tried but twig seems to have the kind of back muscle wise that needs something under the back end of the panels to prevent a gap - saddle fitter commented on it and said there is not a lot we can do except pad out with a sheepskin - not ideal i guess as all saddles should fit perfectly without anything underneath!

eta - i prefer the look of squares although its taking mum some convincing as she has just bought me an equigel which although spreads the pressure out doesnt stop the gap at the back of my saddle!
 
TBH I would be rather concerned about the gap

I would be looking at the tree size and also the fact that maybe the saddle just does not suit your horse. Have you got any pics of the saddle on the horse?

Anyway, back to your Q. I have a WOW with XC flaps - you cannot get more forward cut if you tried. I use a dressage squares with high velcro straps and they work a treat - the Mark Todd velvet square works well, you just have to put them more forward than usual!
 
the gap doesnt look half as bad as described! I havent got any pictures of it yet but is literally one or two cm's it doesnt quite fit 'into her' if that makes sense. shes come from the racetrack and still very gangly. if there is a numnah under the saddle you cant see it, if its on her back on its own you can see an ever so slight gap on the back of the panels. Due to her type and shape, she has quite high withers and is fairly long in her back but as im only 5'2 i cant go any bigger than 17''. The saddler said to simply use a half sheepskin until he next comes to us in 3 months to do its first relift. When im riding you cannnot see any gaps or movement - we have tried 100's of gps / jumping saddles on her and the k2 is the closest for both of us. the saddle i broke her in with was a isabelle dressage but as it has very deep set panels at the back its aout the only thing that fits at the back perfectly!
 
As suggested a half pad will help, I used to use a polypad with my K2, and it stayed ok, but with my Bates that I have now, they slipped terribly!! I use a Mark Todd dressage square on my saddles now and they stay put really well, and look smart!
 
try the waffle weave saddle cloths - they were very good when i was having a similar problem with mine! i think weatherbeeta do them xx
 
im in the same situation with my 4yo- saddle altough professionally fitted, just doesnt quite sit right...im using a 1/2 sheepskin pad, just to pad out the under area and seems to be ok, my hrse is comfy which is the main objective- even if the sadlle doesnt fit perfectly.
 
Try a Griffin Nuumed. If you look on their website its very helpful for measurements and if needs be they will make you one to fit !
