Hi,

my first post for a few months but once again I need some advice, and this place is normally good at that!

I want to try some ridden showing classes with my new horse (16h grey ISH), but I only have a black synthetic saddle that he came with. I therefore need a leather saddle to show him in.

I have seen a 'working hunter' leather saddle, so assume this is the sort I would need? The question is... which saddler would be best to use, and who carries a range of saddles? I am in kent.

I'm not fussed if its not new, just a decent saddle, with some choice for me/him and well fitted. After searching posts, I have been quite disheartened to find positive and negative comments about nearly every saddler in the area, master saddler or otherwise and don't know who to chose.

I would be grateful for any suggestions/comments on who to use/avoid (via PM if necesary)

I use Margeret Newing from West Kent Saddles - have found her helpful, actually picks up the phone (which is novel with saddlers),explains what needs doing or not and gives you a range of options. I am looking for a new saddle at the moment and she took the time to give me a really good reply on what my options are.

thank you - thats a new name, perhaps I will give her a call for a chat about what I want, and take it from there.
