"your horse is too clean and shiney"

Had him out as really struggling with saddle slipping on daughters new fell. He came with a lovely saddle but I thought I would get saddler out to check fit etc. Basically said saddle fit was fine and he couldnt really help, other than to let the pony get dirty
Even asked if I used show shine on saddle area-yeah of course, thought that would be a good plan-NOT :D

Any one got any useful ideas?
Have changed girth from elastic one to a humane one-thats helped
Okish if I use a barnsby non slip pad-but its a bit massive and they dont do smaller sizes

Not sure I would be very impressed with that result! Personally I hate any non-slip girths or pads as they can really mess up a horses back as the saddle shouldn't be totally stuck onto one bit of skin, there needs to be a tiny amount of movement allowed for the muscles under the skin to move freely and effectively. Iiwy I would be after a different saddler!
