Hi, can anyone recommend a good saddlery, I'm based just north-west of Wolverhampton, on the borders of West Mids, South Staffs and Shropshire. Not looking to buy, just need my saddle checking and re-stuffing. I've found a couple on Yell.com, but personal recommendations are always good.

Thanks!

Telford Saddlery used to have a master saddler- I also saw an add in my local (B'north) countrywide for a master saddlers- Im popping up there tomorrow Ill PM you the number tomorrow if you want?

I've had a really, really good experience with Barnsby in Walsall. Extremely helpful, ring you back when they say they will, turn up when they say they will and sort your saddle out. When I rang to say I wanted a new saddle, they even said that if I like my existing saddle, they could make it fit! I hated my existing saddle and was desperate for a new one but it was very nice of them I think.

Andy Wheals (from Whitchurch I think) - started getting him out last year and would never go back to previous one - most adjustments done on the spot, helpful and on time.
Gets my vote - though he does have a waiting list (we waited approx 5 weeks for him to fit the yard in) but IMO that is a good sign!

Im the opposite, my dad bought a saddle through barnsby and had no trouble 3months later, the same man came out to fit my horse for saddles, and we chose the Xtreem, fine. He lent me mary kings old saddle whilst they made mine, but it took forever. He said 2months and we would have it before the pc champs last year, we eventually got it in late october, then the barnsby bridle we ordered with it, turned up bits at a time, then the parts would be labelled full size and be a pony size. It was ridiculous. BUT when everything had finally arrived (bridle by november!!) It was lovely. i love my Barnsby Xtreem saddle.
