Saddlers in the South West...recommendations!

Hi,

Any recommendations for a saddle fitter in the south west....north somerset/mendip area? My saddle no longer fits my mare and need a new jumping saddle decent second hand or new budget around £550 just don't want to be ripped off. Any help appreciated! Thanks

Equicraft are supposed to be good, and a lot of people rate Chris Puddy

Would recommend Chris Puddy, also Lavinia Mitchell (she also works on correcting back issues not just a saddle to fit the shape).

Thanks...I've already got garrets booked to come out but I've never used them before. Might see if Chris Puddy will come out as well...does he have a lot of second hand saddles?

I think Pointings has a large selection of 2nd hand saddles - would be worth giving them a call once you know what type of saddle you'll need.

Ian from Equicraft lives in Churchill and travels from there (although he still trades under the name of his previous saddlery shop). He was brilliant when we had a tricky mare to fit.

I use Chris Puddy and really rate his work. He did mention to me about being insanely busy though when he was out a few weeks ago, so you may have a bit of a wait!

I use Julia Garrett, she has been fantastic. She even lent me a brand new saddle (£1100 worth), while I wait for my new Jeffries saddle to arrive. She has done her absolute best for me and my horse. Can't recommend her enough!
