I suffer from scoliosis and a rotated pelvis, I was told to try a WOW saddle and have tried one out this week, I am after a dressage saddle and I tried the X deep seat and loved it. However my budget doesnt stretch to a new WOW and finding one to my specifications any time soon are looking unlikely. Then someone suggested a Sue Carson Dressage Saddle and said these are also very good for helping with back pain, I am wanting something with massive knee blocks and a very deep seat. What are your opinions please??? Im desperate for some feedback??

Forgot to say I got my extra deep seat dressage WOW second hand on BD classifieds for a good price. It is pristine. I bought my jump WOW new when they were only £1500 - I think they are around £2700 now!

I have been searching everywhere, I have got a wanted ad on the BD website, the problem im having is I need a straight Y Bar and theyre quite hard to get hold of, most of them are on a curved Y Bar, typical just my luck lol

They are hard to find. I was looking for some unusual panels once and sat down with the fitters list from FTE and rang them all to ask if they had ex demo or second hand. Found about 3 pairs in the end.

hi i have had surgery on my back and cant ride too long without being well supported, i ride in a lemetex grand prix ,it has HUGE knee blocks and a good deep seat . ive never sat on a wow so cant comment on that but my lemetex means i can actually ride for more than an hour without crying

First Thought Equine - they make wow saddles and flair (what is in both wow and sue Carson saddles)

I like sue Carson saddles, but can't beat adjustability of a wow. My 2 saddles have been on a 16.2 chunky warmblood, a 16hh fine ex racer, a 15hh welsh x hanno and a 16hh Appaloosa. I have spend about £400 on panels between horses, but that's all. Saved me a fortune in saddles, especially since each horse would have needed multiple due to changing shape

Do Sue Carson saddles still have 2,or rather 4, separate air bags? I picked one up and ran my hand along the panel and could feel a definite lump where the airbags met in the middle - not something that I would like to put on my horse - they could have been re-designed by now as it was a long time ago.

All fully Flair saddles have four airbags, it's a design requirement to stop the air rushing to one end of the saddle.

There is an overlap which some horses can feel and I never use mine without a wool numnah or a very thin gel like acavallo or geleze. Because of how air evens out the pressure by moving, it is nothing like having a lump in the stuffing of a flocked saddle

Try Claire from All Saddle Solutions
I have a very dodgy back and I have a very difficult shaped horse. Claire made a saddle to support my back where I need it and it's also easily adjustable for when my boy changes shape. My physio has noticed a distinct loss in business and has my horse's physio! Bargain!
