Had the saddler today...
Got a 4 yo sports horse, quite a chunky boy, that needs a saddle...
Was going to get him a sythetic dressage saddle, poss. wintec?, that would be lightweight and adjustable- as he will change shape. jst something for the time being
Plus he would have a leather GP, so i can jump him- he will event next year, fingers xed.

BUT... nothing fitted him, the wintcs just perched on his back and didnt 'sit' properly on him- the Wintec Isabell slipped forwards, also none of the Bates GP tyes fitted either

What shall I do, any views?? Cant ride him at all at the mo! What are peoples opinions on saddles for young horses etc!!
Thanks!, sorry for the long post

try fieldhouse saddles fit mine perfectly and he is very wide, and some of the wider ponies wear them too. I found most saddles wither perched on pickle, or wear too low on his withers fieldhouse saddle fits him perfectly!

What is your budget?

I would recommend a wow as they are infinitely adjustable and will last throughout his career and if you change horses

The wintecs are fine, but better to adjust wide and pad them up as I always found I had bridging.
