I'm going to have a good moan about saddle suppliers.

I am interested in buying a new saddle. I want a Reactor Panel or possibly a Wow. Trying to get sense out of these people is like trying to get an ice-cream man to travel 20 miles in his van to sell me a cornet.

HOWEVER; These saddles sell for rather more than a cornet - lets say about £1800. Are these firms interested in demonstrating or showing you a saddle? - NO. They want to charge you a hundred quid just to come and fit one on your horse!

What has happened to British industry and salesmanship? These people couldn't sell me a pint of beer in a brewery!

Depends entirely on the fitter. Where abouts are you- someone on here should be able to recommend someone.

I have a WOW and had no problem getting someone very helpful out to see me.

have you thought of a semiflex by barrie swain. he came out to me and didnt charge a call out and he came miles! and he will take it back after a month if you dont like it.

i second the suggestion of Barrie, depends where you live though.
he is a BRILLIANT saddler but he can be a bit of a funny one, depends what mood he's in some days!
whereabouts are you, i'm sure people can recommend a good local saddler.

I live in the REAL country - on Exmoor - so very difficult to get interest from anyone because they have to travel miles. Understandable, but my other point about both Wow and RP is why don't they get traditional saddlers to fit their saddles? There are plenty of good fitters available, but if, such as RP, they come up with some lady who does horse reiki or the laying on of hands or flower therapy then their credibility goes out the window, wouldn't you say?

I found that people were very interested in coming out to sell me a saddle but not so interested in coming out to check and adjust it. That's the reason I sold my WOW !

I think most traditional saddlers don't want to sell WOW saddles although I understand you can become a WOW fitter after a couple of days training? Not sure how true that is.
