Hello,
anyone know much about different types of panels? i saw a 'holistic' saddle on ebay the other day (just browsing...) and it had only half panels - i.e. the panels which we sit on were a little larger than normal, but the panels by the knee rolls were absent - viewed from underneath it was a bit of a 'T' shape but didn't have the usual long panels down the front. the listing said this was to encourage better shoulder movement.
This just got me thinking... would that actually be better for the horse? it does seem like those front panels would only detract from movement as they cross a muscle rather than aligning with it. i guess the weight distribution would be less so it would have to fit well to work ok, but not sure if having less weight along the line of shoulder would be a bad thing...
any ideas on this...? sorry, pretty random Q!!
