My normally sedate cob seems to have a new spring in his step atm and it seems to coincide with me feeding him Safe & Sound (.

Has anyone else noticed that Safe and Sound has caused this. It could be a coincidence but just thought I would ask.

Thank you!

I have a very sensitive mare who reacts to most feeds. I gave her a multi vit once and i couldnt ride her she went so wild! she currently has half a scoop of safe and sound twice a day and seems fine on it. It may be the sudden decrease in temperature that is making ure horse liven up a bit.

Both my horses have 2 generous scoops a day of it and I have never encountered a problem from feeding it. It is more than likely that a change of personality may be due to a change in weather or routine.

I've never had a problem & one of mine is quite sensitive to feed.

CBfan I don't think it does contain alfalfa but I'll try to remember & check my sack tonight.

It does contain alfalfa, but it's a relatively small amount

some really don't need much for it to have an effect! I know two who react to literally a handfull a day! mine has definately perked up since I added a little to his feed.

But yes, other factors to consider are that it has suddenly got colder and there have been a lot of fireworks around so many horses are a bit more 'on their toes'

Interesting about the alfalfa as he gets alpha beet too. I started feeding him that at the same time.

Clearly I'm not with it atm - could well be that. Maybe its time to look for alternatives. He was unusually naughty last weekend bouncing about and I put it down to new numnah and new girth but this weekend when we went out he was the same.

I'm just getting my nerve back after a serious (non-riding) accident and I can't afford any problems.

Back to the drawing board. Any suggestions? (Thanks so far BWT).

I feed my 2 Dengie healthy hooves but that has also got alfalfa in I'm afraid.

However my TB who i can't feed Alfa-A to as it sends him stupid is doing very well on this.
