Safe mix bedding?

I am looking at different options for my daughter's very mucky mare. We tried wood pellets but I didn't find them any better than shavings and hated that they froze in the really cold weather. We had to resort to rubber matting and shavings.
I have just been looking at Safemix bedding on the net and it seems to have good reviews and is cheaper. However the bags are 20kg and shavings are 120l. Are the safe mix bags smaller and would I need to use more bags?
 
I hate that manufacturers use different measures of content! I have no idea how litres would convert to kg's in bedding???

I used safemix on my daughters very very dirty pony and i liked it- there is no less in a bale than in the average bale of shavings as far as i remember. Its easy to muck out and use.
 
They definitely seem like they might be a cheaper solution for our dirty mare! I might email the company to ask about the size of the bales and also to find my nearest stockist.
Did you use the same number of bales of safe mix as shavings? I usually start with around 8-10 bales of shavings and then add one bale a week so hoping I will use the same quantity of safe mix!
