In the market for a new pair of stirrups. I currently have the acavallo opera ones but would like a pair with the safety opening.

Any suggestions?

I have the le mieux ones and really like them. The footbed it’s really grippy and I like the incline for your lower leg. The arm would definitely open with any kind of pressure too so feels very safe. I chose them as a cheaper option compared to safe-ons

We have the arena ones and find them really comfy and I can testify, having watched my daughter have two nasty falls XC which would have resulted in her being dragged/fallen on by the horse, that they did the job and released her foot both times. Great range of colours too - we have silver and rose gold.

I didn’t get round to it so have still been using them but now I’ve seen your post I think I will go buy them!

I got my foot stuck jumping in them last year. I thought it was a completely freak accident but maybe not…

It was so bizarre. Same thing done probably 400 times but this morning she just side stepped because of a bird and my foot was trapped. Really scared me. I wear ariat connistons which are big in the toe which I am sure didn't help.

Expensive bird - my daughter has them too so I'll be changing both of ours.

I have bought myself a pair!! It was a real wake up call.

Hopping around on an icy high up mounting block trying to detangle myself from a very gentle but beginning to freak out horse is not how 50 year old women are supposed to start their day.
