Sorry I have not updated for a long time, but there was nothing to report. Ben took Saffi home with him temporarily rather than leave her in kennels. He converted his garage with carpet etc (couldn't have her in the house as his partner has severe allergy problems) and Saffi seemed to settle very well. She was getting lots of long walks and although she was left rather longer than was ideal during the day she seemed to be coping fine. Anyway, ben has decided that bearing in mind her age, lack of a suitable home without other dogs, and the fact that he has grown really attached to her, he is going to keep her . I am so thrilled, who knows how long the old girl has left and it is great to know she won't be uprooted again.
Thanks to everyone who helped with ideas of people to contact, and even in a couple of cases with offers of homes, but old grumpy girl just didn't want to share with other dogs. I am typing this with a big grin on my face, and am going to go and tell her sister the good news

I'm so pleased that Ben has been able to keep Saffi and thanks for letting us know - I've often thought about her and wondered how they were getting on. Hope too that Ben's father is recovering as well as he can. x

For those who offered so much support when I was trying to find a home for Saffi, I thought you would like to know that I have today received an up to date photo from Ben. As you can see the regal old lady is very well, she will be 13 next month, slightly bittersweet as of course my Saff, her sister, was pts in October last year.:(, but still good to see. You will note that she appears to have moved into the house now, not sure if the girlfriend is coping with the allergy or is no longer on the scene, thought it best not to ask.;)

MM - have often thought of Saffi and wondered how she eventually got on.

It's so lovely to see that she's now in the house, and not the garage. And great to see how well looked after she looks.
