An ex-racer (9yo TB) who has had a couple of years rest has come in and I've started light work with him. Originally he had a hairline fracture in his knee somewhere and was put out to recover. He seems completely sound now though.
Anyhow - when I tack him up, on a couple of occasions I've tightened his girth a little, gone to pull a foreleg foreward, and he's sunk down on his forelegs. He walks on and is grand afterwards. His saddle is a pretty good fit, and he has a soft girth.
I've had horses dislike being girthed, but nothing quite like this. He doesn't object to being saddled up, but does sometimes do this, which is quite odd. Any suggestions?
