Do you reckon this could be the European Team?

Almost...I think it may well be the European squad though. I think Michael would be a first choice pick as would John and Nick if their horses stay fit...the two fighting it out for the fourth spot would be Tim and Will I reckon

owww don't know what happened with Arko's round in the NC he was first for the brits and the live scoring had him going clear then the last update came up with no score (doesn't give individual rider's scores only team score). So he either was eliminated or retired. After a promising clear in yesterday's open speed class as well!!

Will has got 9 faults by the look as well!

Just read Graham Fletchers article in H&H, lets hope he hasn't put the commentators curse on the show!!!

He does make a very good point about the Renault series not being 1.55m and Grand Prixs only being 1.40m and 1.45m in the UK .

Yeah, I was surprised to read about the Renault series being downsized. I'm sure it was supposed to be 1.55m when first announced. The Area Trials are 1.55m after all and don't carry anythinglike the prize money that the Renault series does. Surely the money alone is enough to entice the entries

Looks like 1 time fault for John & Peppermill. Really wish they had the individual rider sheets...I've only just had a look so don't know which riders have got faults

Its £85 to enter - even though the class is sponsered

That doesn't seem too bad for a class that's paying about 2k first prize ! It's cost me 105 pounds to enter two classes at Hickstead....with a combined total of 250 pounds in first prizes

Thanks for that. Downloading now.

Just read comments re Renault. I thought it was always a maximum of 1.50m and it would only be at this height in first round depending on field and ground. At 1.45m it hasn't actually been dropped as it would have been this height anyway with the exception of perhaps one or two fences if the field was very strong surely.

on the live feed his faults got up to 17 then the total changed to 'ELM' i can only imagine that he's had a stop and several fences, then started to have time faults before getting eliminated

Yes but we are talking about Hickstead!!

They all seem to be about that to enter regardless of the prize money. As GF says if the course is not to strong then a good experienced grade A will be able to go round quick and the true jumpers who you don't want to blast round can't develop which has a knock on effect on selections in the future.

this second round looks far more influential.

Tim just finished on 13 which puts us nicely bringing up the rear!!

can you see an alternate good then bad performance thing happening now in the suprse league! its almost laughable that in a week we can go from first to last.

Yes, but with hindsight we took a huge risk here. With Arko in unknown form and Mondriaan and Corlato the less experienced horses, it only took a bit of bad luck for it all to fall apart.

I think the course in Rome suited us better too as time was less influential. Why do we struglle to make the time so badly
