I have been accepted to present at a conference in Feb in San Diego, just wondered what its like and what there is to do there. We are hoping to base a bit of a holiday around it. I may also be attending a conference in Aspen 3wks later so any ideas on what to do in between would be good.

I had a few days there back in 1992 as part of a holiday when the World Cup SJ Final was held in Del Mar. The Old Town is a lovely Spanish style area and there are various theme parks in the area. Lovely climate. If you haven't done so already have a look at: www.sandiego.org/nav/Visitors
Also not expensive to fly to other cities in California e.g. San Francisco. Have a great time!
