I'm going on my first ever charity horse ride thingy tomorrow at SAndringham... just doing the 5 mile one, as getting rather pregnant now...

anyhoo... what do people wear to those things? everyday riding stuff? or smart stuff. i have NOTHING smart - in fact, i doubt i'll even squeeze on my jods... and i will probably have to wear my muckers with half chaps as my long boots won't fit over my water/fat-filled calves.

oh god, maybe i shouldn't go... but my YO is relying on me going... and she's put her horses in tonight and everything ready...

oh, and will people think i'm bad for riding whilst preggers (horse is exceptionally safe)...

i really really wanted to go until i started worrying about these things... now i just want to sit at home and sulk...

I would have thought lots of waterproofs given the weather tomorrow!

As long as your comfortable that is all that matters, just look clean and tidy and your be fine........I have done these before and choosen my smart gear, that coordinates,so for example smart breeches and matching gillet, and a top that works with it looks nice....generally I would ride in my Mountain horse boots and chaps,as they give good support to the ankles......I really admire you riding pregnant, all the best of Luck and have fun!

it's my horse that's the star. i had completely lost all confidence and was sure i'd never ride again, let alone when preggers... then i met him, and bought him even though i was pregnant... because he is the first horse i've ever known that can make me feel soooo safe.

is it really forecast to rain tomorrow?!?! maybe that can be my excuse...?!?!

i'm going to dig out some relatively matching items and see if i can squeeze into them... xxx

I normally do the Sandringham ride but my friend who I ride with is doing the Moonwalk tonight.

Normally I look like a tramp when I do the horses - jeans / trackie bottoms - but I dig out pair of jods for the pleasure rides.

If it's forecast rain I wear a LW waterprof jacket.

It's a lovely ride, quite busy but the parking / stewards / general organisation is generally fab. One thing I would suggest with you being pregnant is the toilets (nice ones!) are a long way from where you park, I saw someone actually bike from the lorries to the toilets last year. It's not a long way but if you are desparate seems it!
